Privacy Blog Entry 3

The question I am answering the question about what responsibility does society have to preserve the privacy of its members in the 21st Century today.The people of Oceania, especially the Outer Party members, have no real privacy. Many of them live in apartments that have two-way telescreens, so that they can be watched or listened to at any time. Similar telescreens are found in workstations and in public places, also with with hidden microphones. The Thought Police send out undercover agents, who pose as normal citizens and report any person with suspicious tendencies. Children are encouraged to report suspicious people, even their parents to the government. Surveillance controls Oceania and the smallest sign of rebellion, even something like a small facial expression, usually results in immediate arrest and imprisonment. So, this usually makes people obey more than they usually do.

Warning Blog Entry 4

In this centruy, times have changed, and it is not as it once was when the party was in charge. Now people have privacy, and there is not a totalitarian regime. But I have a warning to the young children that think they are safe in the hands in the government. If they try, don't let them implant these ideas into your brain. They will try to make you believe they are protecting you, when they are really just trying to take over your mind. They will put their foot down with many rules, that limit your thought process. They will say there will be harsh punishments if you try to rise against them. You will see that things are not as lively as they were before. People will not use their minds to speak, and people will start to be loyal towards the government. Don't let them take over your life.

Privacy Blog Entry 2

The question I am answering is, "How i would respond to the issues of privacy and government control that is occurring today". I have a few thoughts on today's society's security. First off there is no more government which I like, but I understand that you all need security and a controlling factor. I also have issues with the police. They can listen in on your phone conversations which is not cool at all, especially Verizon Wireless. This is just a ridiculous invasion of privacy. They listen to your phone conversations and read your text messages. The United States of America needs to control the government before they attempt to control their citizens because it is very chaotic because they don't have themselves together.

Propaganda Blog Entry 1

Propaganda is information, ideas, or rumors deliberately spread widely to help or harm a person, group, movement, institution, nation, etc. In my opinion, it is the party trying to brainwash us and everyone else. I may have never been seen by anyone ever and have been the legendary leader of the Brotherhood, I believe propaganda is evil. I seem to have been a Party leader who fell out of favor with the regime. Propaganda is evil because merely the fact that the Party is trying to brainwash you in persuading you to try to do what they order you. In many case, the Party describes me as the most dangerous and treacherous man in Oceania, but I'm not as evil as the Party's propaganda. They are always telling people about how Big Brother is watching you which scares people just as much as the thought police. I believe this scarring people into doing what you want them to do. Not only that, but also controlling the minds of the human race. I'm always worried about the thought police when I shouldn't be worried about my thoughts or opinions. I should be allowed to be able to think what I am, or in deeper terms who I am because I am just a thought, but I'm a profound thought. This is my thought about the Party's propaganda.
